Le Filigare, Chianti Classico 2021

Le Filigare is a stunning estate located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region; in the hills between Florence and Siena. The 13ha of vineyards sit at (for Tuscany) a fairly high altitude of 550m, which helps moderate the hot summers meaning the wines of Le Filigare are timeless renditions of Chianti. Their Chianti Classico 2021 is made from a blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino. The grapes were harvested and spent 12 months in oak prior to bottling. A nose of black cherry, raspberry, strawberry and bay leaf leads to a rich palate with strong tannins and a good level of acidity. The finish has more mature flavours of oak and vanilla, which adds a nice savoury element to the wine and enhances its ability to pair with richer, meatier dishes.
